This product is the dried fruit of Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl, a plant of the Oleaceae family. The autumn fruits are harvested when they are still green at first ripeness to remove impurities, steamed, and dried in the sun, which is commonly called "QingQiao"; when the fruit is ripe, harvested, sun-dried to remove impurities, it is commonly called "LaoQiao".

Main Active ingredients of Forsythia Extract^TM Powder

Contains compounds such as lignans, flavonoids, volatile components, phenylethanes, ethyl cyclohexanol, triterpenoids and coumarins. There are also betulinic acid, forsythin, arctiin, mogroside, pinoresin, forsythin C, forsythin D and so on.

Function:

It has anti-microbial, anti-liver damage, anti-inflammatory, and protective effects on the cardiovascular system, and anti-cancer etc.

Study Shows:

• Forsythia extract can inhibit the expression of inflammatory factors and fibrotic cytokines through TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB and TGF-β/smads signaling pathways, reduce liver damage, and inhibit the development of liver fibrosis.

• Hepatoprotective effect of water extract of Forsythia on liver fibrosis induced by carbon tetrachloride in mice.

• The MTT method was used to determine the anti-cancer activity characteristics of all fractions. Betulinic acid has been identified as the most effective anti-cancer compound in Forsythia.
