Polyglutamic Acid (poly-γ-glutamic acid, abbreviated as PGA) is a water-soluble polyamino acid produced by microbial fermentation in nature. Its structure is a polymeric polymer in which glutamic acid units form peptide bonds through α-amino and γ-carboxyl groups.
γ-pga full name γ-Polyglutamic acid, is left, right optical activity of glutamic acid as a unit, to γ-position of the amide bond polymerization into Homo-polypeptide (homo-polypeptide), polymerization degree between about 1,000 to 15,000. γ-(D,L) -pga, γ-(D) -pga, and γ-(L) -Pga are collectively known as γ-PGA. Gamma-pga is named NATTO GUM in the International Cosmetic pharmacopoeia, and is also called plant collagen, collagene vegetale, phyto collage in the European Union and Japan.
