What is Stearic Acid?
Stearic Acid, is white or white like smooth powder or crystalline hard block, its section has microstrip luster fine acicular crystals; Has a slight odor similar to grease, tasteless. This product is soluble in chloroform or ether, soluble in ethanol, and almost insoluble in water. Freezing point The freezing point of this product (Appendix Ⅵ D) shall not be lower than 54℃. Iodine value The iodine value of this product (Appendix Ⅶ H) is not greater than 4. Acid value The acid value of this product (Appendix Ⅶ H) is 203 ~210. Stearic acid reacts easily with magnesium and calcium ions to form magnesium and calcium stearate (white precipitates).
